Apple watch
Juice Watch allows you to add a complication to your watch which shows your iPhone battery percent

Notability is a wonderful app for handwriting notes, annotating pdfs and doodling. Although, I bought this app as a one time $10 purchase before the subscription system was implemented, I can't speak to the value of the app with their new pricing.
Mac
Transmit is a file transferring app that allows you to easily copy, edit and re-upload files from remote servers with ease

You Need a Budget (YNAB) is a budgeting method that I live by. You can get 6 months free if you are a student.
Splitwise is a website/app that makes it easy to split expenses with friends. I have used this with roommates and friends on trips as a way of keeping track of who pays what bill, so we can have one round of paybacks at the end time period
